125 Different Beers in 10 Countries and Counting! - Beerview #001 with @globehops
Today we start our beerview interview series with @globehops , who is one of the popular contributors of our account @beers.ofthe.world . He is a doctor on career break and traveling the world with his partner while chasing the beers of the countries they visit.
Let's read more about him in this exclusive interview, I am sure you will follow his adventure after reading it!
- How and when your interest in beers started?
- Why did you decide to start your account about beers?
-After working as a doctor for 4 years, myself and my partner decided to take a career break and travel the world for 6 months. Before I left I knew I wanted to document my travels in a diary format that did not involve any writing! I decided on local beers over football shirts and set out to capture beautiful beers in stunning location.
- How many different beers you tried so far? Any guess?
-125 since our trip started last summer in India. Overall who knows, but from the look of my followers feeds on Instagram I probably drink less than average!
- Which country’s beers you like more and why?
-Japan! We visited India, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Australia. My favourite was Japan, incredible craft beer scene and some amazing backdrops to enjoy them...a giant swan paddle boat watching the sun set behind Mount Fuji comes to mind.
- Do you remember your first beer? What was your reaction?
-A sip of dads Stella Artois when I was around 14, hated it despite being told it 'goes with pasta' (he is half-Italian!)
- Which 3 beers would you take with you to Mars?
(1) Punk IPA, Brewdog, Scotland
- What would you recommend to people who started interest in beers?
-I would offer them a cool Pacific Ale by Stone and Wood, Australia before graduating to one of my favourite fruity hophits like 8bit or Crankshaft. I would leave the Guinness and Porters/Stouts to introduce a little later in the week!
- Anything else you would like to add?
Thanks to our first beerview guest @globehops ! We recommend you to follow him to see more amazing beer photos like these on his account:
